Sudan 

Sudan is one of the most disconnected places on earth and constant internal struggle and pointless politics have left the country in ruins. Moreover, there is a certain level of Islamic extremism in the war torn country which makes matters worse as well. However, Sudan has been at war since time immemorial and one can only hope that things improve soon. To make matters worse, the country happens to be located in sub Saharan belt and nothing much grows here as well. The people lead a harsh life and even the hardiest traveler will struggle. The people of Berber tribe are perhaps the greatest at enduring hardship and making it look simple. They live a nomadic life and live on a bare diet. If you can survive a week with them then you can call yourself a world weary traveler. Living conditions are poor, with entire families often cramped into a small tent with hardly keeps the wind out. The harsh desert wind and frequent sandstorms make it even worse.

Mongolia

Mongolia is yet another place which will not make it to many travel bucket lists. However, Mongolia has witnessed a surge of development in the recent past and things have improved to a certain extent. The Mongolian nomads, who live in the steppes, lead a harsh life. Living with them can be a real eye opener for travelers. They survive solely on a dairy based diet which consists of fermented milk, cheese and bread. Sheep is considered to be a luxury and is offered to visitors and revered guests. These people have perfected nomadic life and not much has changed since the time of the great Genghis Khan. The Mongolian winter is quite deadly and not many outsiders will make it through. Travelling in Mongolia is a good option for those who want to test their own limits.
